How to use Wiztoo Monitor
The following description corresponds to Wiztoo Monitor 0.9.42. If you use an older version of Wiztoo Monitor, please download and install a recent version to have access to all the functionalities described below.
Global Preview
Wiztoo Monitor interface is simple and intuitive. The main window is composed of three parts:
- The control ribbon (at the top of the window) lets you start and stop network monitoring and access global options.
- The dashboard (on the left) lets you sort the data by computer and by application.
- The data panel (on the right) displays the catched data: for example a MSN chat, an e-mail, the parameters of a MSN account or of an e-mail account, the list of the computers of the network, etc.

Here is a short description of the main components of the interface:
- 1. Start button. This button lets you start to monitor the network traffic.
- 2. Stop button. This button lets you stop to monitor the network traffic. If the "Record traffic" option is enabled, when the monitoring is stopped Wiztoo Monitor asks you to indicate a location where to save the capture file.
- 3. List of available network adapters. This combobox lets you select the network adapter to use to listen to the traffic. According to the hardware installed on your computer, you can have the choice between several adapters (notably wifi and ethernet). You should select the adapter used for the active internet connection. Wiztoo Monitor detects automatically this device at startup if the option "Search for active device on startup" is enabled.

- 4. List of the computers of the network. This control is visible only when a "network" node is selected in the dashboard. It gives the list of the computers linked to the local network. Wiztoo Monitor detects the computers that have a network activity and updates the list in real-time.
- 5. Scan button. This button allows to send a request to the whole local network to identify inactive computers.
- 6. Menu button. This button shows a popup menu allowing to access the global options and the license manager, among others.
- 7. Dashboard. The dashboard shows a global view of collected data. The content of the data panel is directly linked to the node selected in the dashboard. When new data is collected, the corresponding node becomes red in the dashboard and the color of the Wiztoo Monitor icon changes in the systray.
- 8. Spy checkbox. This checkbox allows to try to spoof the IP address of the selected computer. This is possible on every computer of the network, with the exception of the network gateways and the computer on which Wiztoo Monitor is running.
- 9. State ribbon. This ribbon shows the number and the type of the packets sniffed since the beginning of the monitoring.
Contextual Menus
Several commands are available by a contextual click on the nodes of the dashboard or on the data panel.
- To copy or save the content of a chat.

- To save e-mail attachments.

- Other commands are available, for example to delete some nodes in the tree...
